Get Instant Skin Lifting with PDO Thread Lifts

PDO Thread Lifts are a non- surgical cosmetic procedure, that aims to reduce wrinkles, scarring, help with laxity of the skin, as well as lift areas of the face and body. PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is a complex sugar with a track record in safety, that has been used for over a decade as a material used in orthopedic and cardiovascular surgery for wound closure.  After you have received a local numbing agent, the PDO threads will be inserted into different layers of the skin to anchor the skin to help lift, support and minimize wrinkles and help overall skin appearance.

A PDO Thread Lift procedure overall only takes about 30 minutes to an hour. Results are seen right away, and thread lifts will last up to two years.Until they get metabolized by your body. If further lifts are needed we suggest waiting 2 months in between treatments.

WHAT ARE PDO THREADS?

PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are different from PDO Thread lifts, where long barbed threads are used to lift tissue. Instead, Mono Threads provide an improvement of fine lines and wrinkles by gradually stimulating your body's natural healing process and increasing collagen in those areas where they were applied.

PDO Threads are made up from a material called PolyDioxanOne, which is a flexible and durable polymer that our body naturally absorbs over about a 6 month period.

Threads come in two different textures:

  •     Mono Threads

  •     Screw Threads

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MONO AND SCREW THREADS AND WHICH OPTION IS BEST FOR ME?

If you’re new to the concept of Threads, all of this information might seem overwhelming. You might be thinking how Mono and Double Screw Threads differ in terms of results and which option is right for you.

Mono Threads are a type of single PDO filament no thicker than a fine hair which are smooth and made without barbs. The threads gradually tighten the skin by activating natural collagen production to give the effect of rejuvenated skin.

Mono Threads are perfect for:

  • Improving sagging in the neck

  • Adding slight volume to the cheeks

  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles on the face and forehead

Double Screw Threads have intertwined threads around the insertion needle which provide volume to the treated area. The major difference between the 2 is that Double Screw Threads, as the name would suggest, provide twice as much of a volumising effect of a mono thread.

Double Screw Threads are perfect for:

  • Treating the same issues as addressed by Mono Threads

  • Provide greater volume and lift to the skin by reducing sagging or sunken areas

WHAT AREAS CAN MONO THREADS BE USED TO TREAT?

Mono and Screw Threads can be used to treat the following areas:

  • Forehead and brows

  • Upper and lower cheeks

  • Neck and jawline

  • Nose to mouth lines

  • Marionette lines

  • Arms

  • Buttocks

  • Knee lift

  • Inner Thigh

  • Abdomen

  • Décolletage

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?

There is usually minimal downtime, however, patients may experience some swelling and bruising. This may last for 1 to 2 weeks after the treatment depending on the area treated. After the procedure, patients may immediately return to daily lives, but they will consult with our professionals before resuming exercise and other intense activities.

WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE?

Clients looking for non surgical skin tightening and rejuvenation.  Those with crepey skin, fine lines or areas of the face that you would like to produce collagen to prevent sag such as the brow, cheeks, jawline and neck.

ARE THE RESULTS PERMANENT?

After the threads are inserted, they rapidly stimulate collagen and are absorbed by the body over a 6-9 week period.  The tightening effect on the skin from the collagen produced can last up to 24 months.  A good quality skin care routine with active products will enhance the results.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Results may be seen in 6 weeks and will continue to improve over 2-6 months as the collagen is produced and goes through a process where it matures and strengthens. The PDO Threads work by inducing natural collagen production, which creates a tightening effect.

You will begin to see results in 6 weeks, which will continue to improve over the next 2 to 6 months as new collagen is produced. Overtime, the threads are absorbed by the body. As they slowly dissolve, their effects may last up to 24 months.
